Ryan Murphy Wins Emmy Award

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- It was a star studded night of glam and glitz. The much anticipated 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards 2010 took place last night at Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California. The who’s who of television industry graced the prestigious award ceremony and it witnessed many veteran celebrities taking away the award for their contribution in television industry. The American writer and director Ryan Murphy was awarded the Outstanding Director In A Comedy Series for “Glee”.

Ryan Murphy snatched the prize for Best Direction of a Comedy and the director of “Eat Pray Love” was excited to get the award for his popular series “Glee”. The director in his thanksgiving speech talked about his inspiration to make the series. The director also thanked the Emmy Awards jury for the prestigious award. Ryan Murphy said that he is “shocked” and also thanked the channel Fox for giving him the opportunity to direct “Glee” and supporting him. He also thanked Tom Ford for the “tux”. The director was emotional when he thanked the powerhouse cast of his comedy series and he said that he loves them.

Ryan Murphy spoke about his series “Glee” and said that the musical comedy drama series is all about importance of arts and education. He dedicated his award to all his teachers who taught him to sing and “finger paint”. This was Ryan Murphy’s fourth nomination for Emmy Awards but he won it this year for the first time. “Glee” was honored with 19 nominations, however, the drama series grabbed three Emmy Awards this year. Neil Patrick Harris bagged the award as an Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy and Jane Lynch won the award for her role as an Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy.
