LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- On the July 21 news broadcast at 8pm on CNN, Campbell Brown announced her exit from the network after a three year stint. She announced that this would be her last show. She also thanked the audience and said that the people she worked with on the show were the most dedicated, loyal and talented group and she will miss them. The announcement was expected by some experts as CNN is witnessing its worst quarter in terms of viewership and ratings. The popular “Larry King Live” has also suffered its worst low in 25 years in 2010.
Campbell Brown ended her three year stint with the network on Wednesday. She became a well known face as a news reader over the years. She will be replaced by Rick Sanchez for the time being and later this fall Eliot Spitzer and Kathleen Parker will take over the 8 pm slot. Rick Sanchez has shown his excitement with the new slot in a statement. He is presently the host of the 3pm to 5pm slot on the network. There is a lot of speculation about the cause of the new changes. Piers Morgan of ‘America’s Got Talent’ fame has replaced Larry King in the network’s news-talk show category.
Campbell Brown was presented with flowers and champagne after the show. The bottle was uncorked inside the studio after the lights were dimmed. She has not revealed any of her future plans after the decision was announced. In an earlier statement she said that there was no pressure on her to quit and CNN has been supportive in every possible way.
