John Kluge Passes Away

CHARLOTTESVILLE (GaeaTimes.com)-The television industry mogul and German born American entrepreneur John Kluge breathed his last on Tuesday. The business tycoon was 95 years old. John Kluge died at his family home in Charlottesville. His own foundation The John W. Kluge Foundation confirmed his death to the media.

John Kluge was the creator of Metromedia, which is the nation’s first major independent broadcasting entity. This Metromedia later turned into seven television stations, 14 radio stations, outdoor advertising, radio paging, mobile telephones and many more. The media source reports that John Kluge is survived by his wife and three children. His friends and family say that he was one of country’s most generous philanthropists, he even donated $63 million to a University during his lifetime. The University Of Virginia expressed condolence in their press release. Provost Arthur Garson said that John Kluge was a truly great man as everything he did was “huge”. Arthur Garson also added that John Kluge lived in so many places simultaneously, but each received his attention.

The current President of University of Virginia, Teresa A. Sullivan expressed her condolence saying that John Kluge was one of the most charming and engaging individuals she had ever net in her life. Teresa A. Sullivan also added that she was struck by his “keen” mind, his inquisitive nature and extraordinary “commitment” to higher education. A reputed media source reported that John Kluge had the taste of developing business and also complex financial deals. In one his statements the owner of multi billion dollar communications empire said that he loves to take the risk because it taxes the mind. The media could not report about his funeral work.
