September 8, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Michael Douglas was recently diagnosed with throat cancer and since then he has been treated by a throng of doctors. The 65-year old Academy Award winning actor said that the cancer is a minor slump in his otherwise successful life. The actor said that he is positive about his chances of recovery and he will soon get back to his usual good health.

The actor is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy at one of the best cancer treatment centers in USA. Michael’s wife, Catherine Zeta Jones, cannot bear to see her husband undergo the radiotherapy for his cancer. The couple has decided to allow their 12-year-old son to accompany his father at the New York Medical facility so that he can understand more about cancer and make the right choices in life.

Michael thinks that bringing along his kids for the radiotherapy is a great idea because now they know about the disease and the fear for the unknown is gone. The doctors treating Michael Douglas are “cautiously optimistic” about his chances of recovery and they maintained that the actor has 80% chance of making a full recovery.
