LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- “Too Fat for 15: Fighting Back” hit the small screen on Monday at the Style Networks. The premier episode of the documentary series was able to capture the attention of the audience although it followed the long queue of other such programs that address the issue of obesity. It stood apart from other programs as it is not another reality show but a documentary on the life of four teens and one pre-teen kid who struggle to shed their extra pounds and get back to a normal life.
The first episode of “Too Fat for 15: Fighting back”, introduces the four main characters who are brought to the Wellspring Academy by their parents. The four teens who make it to the Academy are Tanisha Mitchell, 17; Terrina Cyrpress, 17; Scotty Basso, 13; and Emily Hodge, 11. While Tanisha Mitchell is the heaviest student to enter the Academy with her 510 pounds, Terinna Cypress is the most stubborn in the lot who has been in the academy for the longest period. Scotty Basso is a fun loving person who has entered the academy with a dream to get back to 150 pounds and Emily Hodge is finding it hard to at Wellspring Academy.
“Too Fat for 15: Fighting Back” also briefs the viewers about the Academy. Wellspring Academy is a weight-loss boarding school in North Carolina where the instructors not only monitor the diet of the students but also teach them healthy food habits. They also guide the kids to change their thinking and behavior so that they can combat their addiction to food. All these introductions made the first episode of “Too Fat for 15: Fighting Back” a worth watch.
