Dancing with the stars 2009 lineup

The 2009 Dancing with the Stars lineup has finally been released. There had been a lot of speculations about the celebrities who are going to participate in this show for the beautiful coveted mirror ball trophy. With utter surprise, the list includes name of some celebrities whom people probably were not expecting.

The ninth season of “Dancing with the Stars 2009″ was premiered on Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. on ABC with a three-night long event.
Here you can catch up the 16 celebrity contestants who are going to set the stage on fire.

1. Macy Gray, a singer and actress
2. Kathy Ireland, former supermodel, current clothing designer.
3. Mya, Grammy-award winning singer.
4. Debi Mazar, Actress from the hit HBO show Entourage.
5. Chuck Lidell, light heavyweight champion.
6. Donny Osmond, entertainer.
7. Kelly Osbourne, reality star and daughter of Sharon & Ozzy.
8. Joanna Krupa, model, most recently she was seen on ABC’s The Superstars.
9. Melissa Joan Hart, of Sabrina the Teenage Witch fame.
10. Natalie Coughlin, Olympic medalist in swimming
11. Mark Dacascos, The Chairman on Iron Chef America.
12. Ashley Hamilton, actor-comedian and son of George Hamilton.
13. Michael Irvin, the token football player. Former Dallas Cowboy, three-time Super Bowl champ.
14. Aaron Carter, singer.
15. Tom DeLay, former House majority leader.
16. Louie Vito, professional snowboarder.

We are both thrilled and shocked that Rod Blagojevich did not manage to get his way through DWTS.

I must appreciate that the DWTS committee is really doing a great job in finding more elegant people for the competition. Though the names like Melissa Joan Hart, Kelly Osbourrne, Donny Osmond and a few others, are well-known, name of Mark Dacascos is quite astonishing to the DWTS show lover.

Of course the name every one is focusing on is Tom Delay. He was the Republican House Majority Leader from 20032005.

The cast is the largest so far, and there will be some eliminations during the process of selecting the real winner. There will also be new professionals to help with the number of “stars”.
