ROSELAND (GaeaTimes.com)- Denise Borino-Quinn, who played the role of the obese mafia wife, Ginny Sacramoni, in the famous HBO series “The Sopranos”, died of liver cancer on Wednesday. Her mass funeral was conducted on Saturday, at the Farmer Funeral Home.
Denise Borino-Quinn was suffering from liver cancer and was admitted in the Morristown Memorial Hospital, where she left her last breathe on Wednesday. The actress was extremely popular, although acting came to her quite by chance. She went for the open casting call for the show in the year 2000, just to give moral support to her friend, who wanted to bag the same role. With very little hope or expectation about herself, she also tried in the audition, and was selected from 14,000 girls. The casting directors thought that no one else could pay justice to the character and physical image of Ginny Sacramoni than Denise Borino-Quinn. When, the news of her selection was broken to her for the first time, she thought it was a joke. However, there has been no looking back for this absolutely inexperienced actress since then, as she portrayed her on- screen character with full conviction till 2007, until the show was called off air. Her story was no less than that of a fairy tale, where the least expected incident, changed her life completely. From a legal secretary and a part time manicurist, she became a popular television actress, who was most loved for her plump chubby looks and weight problems.
Denise Borino-Quinn, acted for just seven years. She got married in 2005, to Late Luke Quinn Jr. But unfortunately, her married life did not last long, as few months ago her husband passed away. The 46-year-old is survived by her two younger brothers, Vincent Borino and Chris Borino.
