Norman Wisdom Dies At 95

BALLASALLA, ISLE OF MAN (GaeaTimes.com)- British comedy actor Norman Wisdom breathed his last on Monday after being unwell for the last few months. The noted actor who suffered a series of strokes over the last past few months was enduring a general decline in his physical as well as mental health. The fact that the “Trouble in Store” star is no more has left his large number of fans extremely disheartened and condolences have been pouring in since the news of his demise has spread.
While reacting to Norman Wisdom’s death, his agent of 30 years Johnny Mans revealed to the media outlets that the 95-year-old actor was like a family member and a best friend to him while adding that he expected the veteran actor would live to see his 100th birthday. Norman Wisdom’s family issued a statement on Monday that divulged that the actor died peacefully at the Abbotswood Nursing Home on the Isle of Man without enduring any pain or distress. Although the “A Stitch In Time” star was living a fairly independent life despite facing physical ailments, over the last few days, his health had declined considerably. At the same time, the family asked for time to cope with the demise of the “much loved father and grandfather.”
Norman Wisdom shot to stardom in the 1950’s and 60’s when he appeared in a number of films that went on to become massive hits. The veteran actor was bestowed with the BAFTA award for his excellent work in the flick “Trouble in Store” while in 1966, he also received a Tony award nomination for the Broadway musical “Walking Happy.”
