PASADENA (GaeaTimes.com)- Legendary television producer and noted writer Stephen Cannell passed away on Thursday night owing to certain complications from melanoma. The news of the highly-acclaimed producer’s demise has been confirmed by his family in a statement that was issued later which revealed that Stephen Cannell died at his Pasadena, California house in the presence of his family members as well as friends. The fact that the iconic television producer, who has been associated with a dozens of small-screen hits during his career of 30 years, is no more has left the entertainment industry rather shocked.
A post that was published in Stephen Cannell’s official website soon after his demise read that the renowned writer would always be in the hearts and minds of his large number of viewers and readers whose life has been enriched with Stephen Cannell’s illustrious body of work. At the same time, the statement that has been released by his family pointed out that besides being a prolific writer and legendary television producer, he was also a devoted family man and a loyal friend. Since the news of his demise spread, condolences have been pouring in from various quarters which includes his fans as well as other television stars who had the opportunity of working with him.
Stephen Cannell is survived by his wife of 46 years Marcia, the couple’s three children as well as their grand children. The television producer commenced his career as a writer for television series such as “It Takes a Thief” and “Colombo,” among others and later went on to produce as many as 40 shows which gained wide popularity.
