Early Graves’ Frontman Dies

PORTLAND (GaeaTimes.com)- Lead vocalist of metal band Early Graves died on Monday when a van carrying two metal bands crashed on Interstate 5 in Oregon. While 28-year-old Makh Daniels of Pacifica died on the spot, two other guitarists, 24-year-old Justin Garcia of “The Funeral Pyre” and Tyler Jensen of Early Graves got injured in the crash and were taken to a hospital for medical attention. Apart from these three, sin other members in the can escaped minor injuries. The van was pulling a utility trailer as well.

The State police Lt. Gregg Hastings mentioned to media sources that the crash occurred when the driver of the van, identified as Justin Garcia, lost control of the vehicle after falling asleep. The members of The Funeral Pyre and Early Graves were returning from a show in Oregon where they had performed on Sunday. They were heading toward Nevada through the Interstate 5 when the van rolled over and ended up in a grassy area far from the freeway.

The body of Early Graves vocalist Makh Daniels was pulled out of the rear cargo space of the van where he was lying with two other members. The police mentioned to media sources that the vocalist was not wearing a seat belt. The band had been traveling since June 25 for the promotion of its new album. It had played in South California, New England and returned to the West. As per reports, the group was scheduled to perform in Reno on Monday. In the press material announcing the release of the latest album of Early Graves titled “Goner”, Makh Daniels had maintained that he had been passing through some dark times and the lyrics of the songs have been “an exorcism of sorts”.
