‘300′ Movie: Xerxes Next

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Zack Snyder has revealed in a recent interview that he has signed a deal to co-write and direct ‘Xerxes’ which he claims is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the movie ‘300′ in spite of being related to it. It will, however, feature the Sparta king Leonidas played by Gerrard Butler in the original movie. He said that the movie will focus on the battle led by Themistocles and show how it was continued against Xerxes.

In the movie 300‘ Sparta was shown to be invaded by Xerxes and his Persian army. The huge hit gave audiences a new insight into that part of the history which was rarely delved in before. Zack Snyder said that the motive of the Spartan army, as shown in the last movie, was to fight till death with fighting as the main focus of the movie. In case of the battle led by Themistocles, Zack Snyder said that there is a lot more politics involved and a he has to get the approval of many people. He also mentioned a relation with Leonidas but did not reveal anything more about the plot.

Zack Snyder said that the movie will be similar to ‘300‘ in a lot of ways but will be covering a much larger time and geographical span than the previous installment. He added that the story will focus more on gods and godhood and show the search for godhood by Xerxes and also the attack on by his Persian army on the city of Athens. The idea of the gods will be presupposed in the movie and it will show Xerxes in his efforts to conquer the world.
