Cyrus Is Triple Nominee At Teen Choice Awards

MILEY CYRUS will be a triple threat at the 2010 Teen Choice Awards after landing three nominations, including one for Best Female Artist.

The teen superstar will go head-to-head with Ke$ha, Taylor Swift, Shakira and Lady GaGa for the top pop prize, while the singer/actress will also compete for Choice Movie Actress: Drama for The Last Song.

The film has also scooped Cyrus a mention in the Choice Movie: Dance category, for the fancy footwork she displayed with her co-star and real-life boyfriend Liam Hemsworth in the romantic drama.

The stars of the Twilight franchise are set for a big night too - The Twilight Saga: New Moon is pitted against Alice In Wonderland, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and Clash of the Titans in the Choice Movie: Fantasy category and movie vampire Robert Pattinson will fight it out with co-star Taylor Lautner for the Choice Movie Actor: Fantasy title. Twilight’s Kristen Stewart will represent in the Choice Movie Actress: Fantasy category.

Meanwhile, Justin Bieber will compete against his mentor Usher for Choice Music: Male Artist and the Black Eyed Peas are up for the Choice Music: Group award.

Other music nominees include Beyonce and Alicia Keys (R&B Artist); Kings of Leon and MGMT (Rock Group); and Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood (Female Country Artist).

In the TV categories, Gossip Girl is up for Best Drama and the show’s stars, Chace Crawford and Penn Badgley, and Blake Lively and Leighton Meester will compete in the Best Actor and Actress (Drama) categories, respectively.

Glee’s Lea Michele (Best Actress, Comedy), Cory Monteith (Best Actor, Comedy) and Jane Lynch (Best Villain) have also received nominations, and the hit show itself will go up against Wizards of Waverly Place and The Big Bang Theory for Best Comedy.

The Teen Choice Awards, whose honorees are presented with trophies in the shape of surfboards, will be hosted by pop star Katy Perry in Los Angeles on 9 August (10).
