May 5, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Frank Darabont’s apocalyptic zombie drama "The Walking Dead” now has AMC added to its cast.

The production has got Laurie Holden to play the role of Andrea, a key member of the survivor group who has proficiency with a sniper rifle and falls in love with a man twice her age.

Holden played an important role in writer-producer-director Darabont’s ‘The Mist’ and had a recurring role in the final season of FX’s ‘The Shield.’ She is represented by APA and Framework.

Adam Fierro has also joined the production as a consulting producer. Fierro, who is represented by ICM, has worked on serialized dramas such as ‘Dexter,’ ‘Shield’ and ‘24.’

Newcomer Steven Yeun has been added to the cast as Glenn. He along with Holden joins Andrew Lincoln, Jeffrey DeMunn and Jon Bernthal on the show. Meanwhile, Jaime Ray Newman (ABC’s ‘Eastwick,’ Syfy’s ‘Eureka’) has got himself a recurring arc on Lifetime’s ‘Drop Dead Diva.’ Represented by Innovative and managed by the Burstein Co., she will be playing Jackson Hurst’s love interest on the show.

Also, Jewel Staite ("Stargate: Atlantis") and Alan Dale have been added to the original movie "Doomsday Scrolls," which will start production this week in Vancouver.
