Such is the impact of TV shows in our country. The television celebrities are happy to get instant fame and name. But do they even have the time to watch their own shows. The heavily packed schedule of these celebrities are frustrating at times, but as on says ‘No Pain; No Gain”.
Let’s hear it from the horses mouth itself that which TV soaps do these celebrities watch.
We all are aware of the fact that Arjun Punj is truly, madly and deeply in love with his wife Gurdeep Kohli. So when we asked about the TV shows that Arjun likes to watch, the but-obvious answer came as-
“I only and only watch Kasamh Se for the obvious reason that my wife, Gurdeep is in the show. Apart from that I don’t like watching any show. There is no specific reason for it but frankly I am not interested in watching any other show”.
So does that mean that Arjun switches on the television only to see his wife’s performance?
“No no. That is not the case. I do watch television but prefer watching Travel and Living over television shows. It is because of the simple reason that Travel and Living is more informative and I like to keep myself updated with it”.
Arjun’s wife, Gurdeep on the other hand says she somehow manages to see a few serials of her interest.
“I love watching Balika Vadhu. The concept is fresh and nice and it is very much appealing to the Indian audience, who are emotionally attached to this serial. Apart from that I take out time to watch Discovery channel or serials like Friends in Star World.
One the other hand, Mihir Mishra expresses his disinterest in watching (Indian) TV shows and prefers watching other serials (foreign).
“I don’t watch any TV shows, neither mine nor others. Instead I watch a lot Star World. I love the serials in Star World like Friends, Lost etc. I also like to keep myself updated with news. I watch a lot of BBC”.
Many actors are glued to their screens when one talks about Discovery channel.
Shabbir Ahluwalia says, “I love watching discovery channel. I liked it when I was a kid and I like it now as well. Apart from that I like to watch my shows. The shooting gets very hectic so I get time only to watch the serials in which I am performing. Friends aired on Star World was a serial to which I was constantly glued”.
Kamya Punjabi went totally off track but later did come back to the topic and said, “I love watching Balika Vadhu. This is one show I never miss no matter anything happens. I love the concept and the acting of all the characters in the show. I think both the child artists have done a remarkable job. I also love watching Uttaran. The lead in Uttaran is really a very talented girl and she will go miles ahead in future”.
Kamya expresses her dislike on a few shows and tells us bluntly about them.
“I was really in a bad mood and became really furious when in a recent television award the ‘best personality award’ was given to some young newcomer types chap. I say, why did the award people do such a thing. Our industry has renowned people like Sarita Joshi, Alok Nath, Aruna Ali, Sharad Malthotra, Kamya Punjabi etc. The Industry has such people then why to give such a prestigious award to a guy who has just spent a few months or years in this Industry. We are ‘old’ here are certainly we are ‘gold’. I am really not satisfied with their judgment.
We do understand your feelings but this was going off the track. We had to interrupt her to get her back to track.
“I love Jai Shree Krishna too. The girl has tremendous talent and is very skilled. At such an age she is acting and delivering great performance. That is certainly a remarkable feat”.
So we see that our celebrities are not that very fond of the TV shows as the audiences in the country are. They either prefer watching foreign shows or travel and living. Discovery channel was the one which almost everyone abided by saying that it was certainly the best and very much informative. The next best possible reason was lack of time, because of their own hectic schedules.
Anyways, their busy schedule probe them from watching their own shows or any other show, but we, the audience of India are and will always watch to credit them for their hard and sincere work.
