Michael ‘Eyedea’ Larsen Dead At 28

SAINT PAUL (GaeaTimes.com)- The renowned freestyle battle champion and underground rapper Michael Larsen a.k.a. Eyedea passed away at his home last night. The singer was only 28 year old. Eyedea’s mother Kathy Averell announced the news of the sudden death in the homepage of his social networking site.
Eyedea’s mother Kathy Averell wrote in the social networking site with great pain and sadness that his son “Mikey” has passed away leaving his friends and family mourn for his death. His mother did not specify his cause of death. A source close to the rapper told a reputed media source that his mother found him dead early in the morning on his bed at his home in St. Paul’s. Eyedea’s mother said that she is presently waiting for the autopsy result of his son. Kathy Averell wrote in the social networking site that on behalf of Eyedea’s friends, family and fans she requests their privacy as they “process” this devastating loss in their lives. Eyedea’s mother told a reputed media source that her son was doing great and had lot of things going on in his life. This unexpected loss has shocked his family to a great extent.
Rapper Eyedea was a longtime member of the “Rhymesayers” crew and he has won a number of rap battles. One of his most acclaimed victories included HBO televised “Blaze Battle” which he won in 2000 and “Scribble Jam” in 1999. He has also appeared as solo artist and also sang with his longtime friend and collaborator DJ Abilities. The media outlets reported that presently his mother has opened a fundraiser in the social networking site in the memory of his son.
