Michael Douglas: “Throat Cancer Recovery Chances Are High”

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Hollywood superstar Michael Douglas shocked his fans all across the world when recently it came to light that the Academy-award winning actor was suffering from throat cancer. The 65-year-old actor appeared in the “Late Show with David Letterman” on Tuesday where he revealed intrinsic details about his cancerous condition and also told the audiences how he was coping to overcame the disease. Although the “Wall Street” star himself described his throat cancer to be quite ‘intense,’ he expressed hope that his chances of recuperating from the ailment was as high as 80 per cent.
While talking to the CBS presenter, Michael Douglas revealed that the chances of his overcoming throat cancer remains positive as till now the cancer had not spread below his neck and he had already finished his very first week of radiation and chemotherapy. The fact that the “Basic Instincts” star had been through chemotherapy sessions came as a surprise to host David Letterman and the viewers as well with the CBS presenter adding that the actor never looked better to him which proves that he was indeed a tough guy. To this, the award-winning actor responded by saying that he felt ‘pretty lit up’ lately.
Michael Douglas was diagnosed with throat cancer about three weeks ago through a biopsy that was done immediately after he returned from a vacation with his family. The 65-year-old actor was complaining of sore throat since the beginning of this year and although a flurry of tests were carried out, the cause of his condition continued to remain elusive until the biopsy was done last month.
