Patrick Swayze’s popular film, Dirty Dancing, in which he starred as a dance instructor, is set to get a remake. The original raked USD 213 million (Pound 133 million) at the worldwide box office, and catapulted the actor to instant fame. A sequel in 2004, Dirty Dancing, followed it: Havana Nights, which starred Diego Luna. It also made its Broadway and West End appearance.

But film executives have decided to remake the original. Lionsgate Productions are currently developing a script with Uptown Girls writer Julia Dahl.
