Don Kirshner Passes Away

BOCA RATON (GaeaTimes.com)- Legendary Don Kirshner passed away on Tuesday at the age of 76. The man well known for his immense contribution in the field of music lost his life out due to a heart failure, taking his last breath in Boca Raton, Florida. The legend is survived by his wife Shiela, two children and his five grand children. The news of his death was officially announced by his publicist Sharon Ellman who also cited the reason for his death.
The man who rose to fame for his contribution to The Monkees was a stalwart in the music industry. The credit for the enormous popularity of the songs of The Monkees undoubtedly went out to Don Kirshner for it was him who penned the lyrics of the rock band that emerged in the 1960’s. Apart from being a hit name associated with The Monkees, Don Kirshner is also well remembered for his popular television program “Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert” which had gone to become a revolution in itself. The man who himself used to be the host for “Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert” had successfully won the hearts of the audience of that time by coming up with an unique show. The rock concert show that was aired on ABC on a weekly basis was a hit for its long stretched live performances.
Don Kirshner was not only famous for having carved out a place for himself in the music industry. He also gave break to many future superstars including The Police and Billy Joel. He also earned a place in the Hall of Fame where his name was inducted in 2007 for his contribution towards music.
