LONDON - Katie Holmes is considering returning to Broadway with William Mastrosimone’s psychological drama ‘Extremities’.

According to the New York Times, show producers want to launch the play in the Big Apple by the 2011-2012 season and Holmes is at the top of the list to star, reports the Daily Star.

A spokeswoman for the actress confirms that she has been approached about the role.

The play centres around a woman who turns the tables on her would-be rapist before contemplating what to do with him with her two roommates.

‘Extremities’ premiered Off Broadway in 1982 with Susan Sarandon in the lead role, later taken over by Farrah Fawcett, who also played the part in a 1986 film version.

It has never been produced for Broadway.

Holmes made her Broadway debut in 2008 in a revival of ‘All My Sons’. (ANI)
