Greg the comedian is dead

September 30, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Greg Giraldo, the popular comedian and one of the judges on "Last Comic Standing" and Comedy Central network staple, died this Wednesday; His death happened after four days of suffering from a drug overdose. He was 44 years old.
Comedy Central said that the news of Greg’s death was indeed shocking and tragic to the core. Greg had also been very close to Comedy Central for several years and had manifested his awesome and wicked sense of humor, at several occasions. He was like a brother to the Comedy Central network and also to the comedy genre as a whole.
After his death, his website was shut down by 3.30 in the afternoon. The users of that particular website were urged to leave "notes of condolence" on the Facebook page of this late comedian.
Geraldo has also appeared on several sitcoms and talk shows like The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, where he appeared over a dozen times. He has also appeared in The Howard Stern Show and The Opie and Anthony Show.
Geraldo’s longtime buddy Jim Norton, a comedian himself also posted the news of his death on Twitter. He posted this sad news with a photo of the duo, that was clicked on the 28th of June.
