CHARLOTTE (GaeaTimes.com)- The famous Gospel singer Tony Greene, has bid his last adieu late in the afternoon of Sep 28, due to kidney failure, which he has been fighting for the last few years. He was admitted to the Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C, since Sep 21. He was removed from the ventilation in the early afternoon, and many thought, that he left his breathe right then. However, he could breathe for two more hours after that, and at 4:30, his demise shocked every Gospel music lovers, to pay him an obituary.

He is survived by his wife, TaRanda, his six years old elder daughter Esabelle, his two and a half year old younger daughter Joselyn, his sister Kim Hopper, and his brother Tim Greene. Tony Greene started his music career as a Gospel singer in the early 1980s, with his father and two sibling. He specialized in Southern Gospel music, which was quite overshadowed by the rising popularity of pop music during that decade. Yet his Trio Southern Gospel Band, “Greenes”, came to prominence in the late eighties and made a mark in its own way, as a different genre of music. Tony Greene had his genuine loyalty and dedication toward the Lord’s music, for which he worked really hard to popularize this genre in every different parts of the world. Tony Greene, whose birth name was Anthony Elden Greene, worked for the sustenance of Gospel music not only in churches, but also in main stream commercial events. He has also taken the initiative to make the thirty year old, long-running Gospel Singing Jubilee multi-day concert held in Boone, a popular one. His obituary was paid by all every member of his family and several other fans.

Mourned by several fans, for his early unfortunate death, his obituary marked that though he is no more in this world, the soul of Tony Greene, has only left his body. He still resides in people’s mind and exists with the Lord himself, with his soulful music.
