Melina Kanakaredes Leaving CSI NY after six years

NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com) — Melina Kanakaredes, who appears as Detective Stella Bonasera in CSI, has announced that she is quiting the TV show.

Crime scene Investigation aka CSI is a American Crime Drama television series. CSI: New York is very popular CBS’s CSI franchise that started in 2004.

From the very beginning of CSI: New York journey, Kanakaredes was part of it. She continues enthralling the audience with her classy performance for six long years.

I made some amazing and lifelong friendships during my six seasons on CSI: NY and I will treasure them forever.

, Kanakaredes said in a statement.

On the other hand, CBS also regrets Kanakaredes’s absence, although they said,

We hoped Melina would return to ‘CSI: NY’ for another season, but we respect her decision to move on. Her amazing talent and invaluable contribution to the success of the series are greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten. She will forever remain a friend to the network and studio, and we wish her the very best.

However, Melina Kanakaredes’s role is replaced by the Emmy-winning actress from “Once and again” and “Sisters” Sela Ward. Sela will be playing the role of an experienced investigator, who deeply feels for the victim.
