Rahul Saxena Hurt In Accident

MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Former ‘Indian Idol’ star Rahul Saxena was hurt in a dangerous car accident near Aurangabad in Maharashtra around midnight. One person was killed in the accident and two singers were quite badly injured. Rahul Saxena was accompanied by another popular female singer Apoorva Gajjala. The officials said that they were returning from a musical show on Thursday at Jalna. A spokesperson for the Jalna sub-district police station confirmed that the car in which they were returning rammed into a truck on the highway.

The person killed was a sound recordist called Uday Dantale. He died on the spot after the accident. Rahul Saxena has sustained minor injuries due to the accident and is being treated at a local hospital. Former reality contestant and a popular voice on Indian TV and radio, Apoorva Gajjala was seriously injured in the accident and is reportedly in coma. She is being treated at the SN Dhoot Hospital in the Aurangabad district. The driver of the car has also been injured in the accident and is being treated in Aurangabad as well.

Apoorva Gajjala appeared on the popular Indian reality talent hunt show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ and was also one of the favorites to win the show. In spite of not winning the competition she became quite popular in Maharashtra as well as in small Indian towns and performs regularly at local events. Rahul Saxena was a popular face and voice on Indian Idol. He participated in the 2006 season of the Indian reality music show and also qualified in the top 10.
