LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com) — So we now have the new winner for the hit reality show “Americas Got Talent”. Singer Michael Grimm won the event in what could be termed as an upset. It was widely regarded that the 10 year old opera singer Jackie Evancho deserved to win the contest.

So Michael Grimm now has scored a $1 million and a show at Las Vegas. In other results black light illusionist Fighting Gravity and the cooky Prince Poppycock secured the 3rd and 4th place. Decidedly the person who was most surprised with the result was Michael Grimm himself. After his performance he gave comments like I gave it all I could” and that at least “now, I have a fan base.”

But spare a thought for the vanquished! Evancho accepted the decision of America with grace and dignity. She parted off after saying

I just really hope I’ll be able to sing for you guys again.

Americas Got Talent’s finale had a ton of star studded performances from Poppycock and Summer, Grimm and Jewel, Fighting Gravity and Lionel Richie and Evancho and Sarah Brightman. But on a more sombre note looking at Americas decision for the last few years the show has almost become another reality song show in the vein of American Idol. Very few contestants have ever reached the business end of the show without possessing a knack of singing. Just a thought!
