LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- In what can best be described as a star studded and dramatic finale, the season 5 winner of ‘America’s Got Talent’ was announced as Michael Grimm. The singer/musician from Mississippi was one of the favorites to win the competition and all the three judges in the previous episode had predicted that he would win the competition. Sharon Osbourne had revealed that her husband, the legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne, had bet a $100 that he would win the competition. The competition, however, was tough to say the least. With acts such as Fighting Gravity, Jackie Evancho and Prince Poppycock in the top 4, it could have been anyone’s crown.

In the finale all the acts performed with their ‘heroes’. One of the highlights of the evening was opera star Sarah Brightman who performed with Jackie Evancho. The combination worked wonders and the 10 year old looked like she had already won what she came for by getting a chance to sing beside her biggest idol. They performed the song ‘Time To Say Goodbye’ and Jackie Evancho was seen almost awe-struck by her idol singing beside her. Lionel Ritchie performed with Fighting Gravity. At 61, the ‘Hello’ star performed the groovy number ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’ and Fighting Gravity showed that the lyrics can be taken literally and actually danced on the ceiling. The judges had assured in the previous episode that the dance group will get a show in Las Vegas one day or the other. Michael Grimm performed with Jewel and Prince Poppycock, who was the first to be eliminated sang alongside Donna Summer.

Michael Grimm walks away with not just $1 million but also his own show in Las Vegas. He was seen dazed after being adjudged the winner and said that it all felt unreal.
