Action Replayy Changes Poster Due To Similarity With Dabangg

September 10, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer upcoming movie ‘Action Replayy’ has changed its posters due to the close similarity with Salman Khan’s movie ‘Dabangg’. Director Vipul Shah realized the similarity of the two posters and changed it at the last minute.
The poster of Dabangg shows two superimposed hearts on Salman’s glares and the same can be seen on Akshay’s dark glasses in ‘Action Replayy’. Now, Vipul Shah has removed the two hearts from the posters of his movie.
Shah was quoted saying that they thought of this concept but ‘Dabangg’ has now used it so beautifully that they thought to opt for something else for Akshay’s movie. The director added that they can go for a new idea as there is no dearth of creativity and innovation. He was quoted praising the poster of Dabangg saying that it looked really good and people have loved it.
According to a statement by the ‘Action Replayy’ team, the creative team of the movie discovered this close similarity of the two movie’s posters. The team then decided to remove the hearts from the glares. The new poster will maintain the same look apart from the two red hearts.
Veteran actor Randhir Kapoor and Neha Dhupia are also playing important roles in ‘Action Replayy’. The movie is inspired from a 1994 Gujarati play of the same title.
The poster and the first teaser of ‘Action Replayy’ will be released in theatres today.
