Ryan Murphy wins Emmy for outstanding director for comedy

LOS ANGELES - American director Ryan Murphy Sunday won the Emmy for outstanding director for a comedy series at the 62nd Primetime Emmmy Awards.

Murphy, who is currently in the news for his movie “Eat Pray Love” that has Julia Roberts in the lead, won the award for directing the comedy series “Glee”.

Jane Lynch too walked away with an Emmy for outstanding supporting actress for her performance in “Glee”, while Eric Stonestreet was named the outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series for his performance in “Modern Family”.

Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd won Emmys for outstanding writing for the comedy series “Modern Family”.
