Jack Horkheimer Dies At 72

MIAMI (GaeaTimes.com)- Jack Horkheimer, the executive director of the Miami Space Transit Planetarium passed away last Friday leaving his friends and family mourn for his death. The host of the PBS show “Jack Horkheimer: Star Gazer” was 72 years old when he breathed his last. Jack Horkheimer died in his Florida home after battling against his respiratory illness, his niece Kathy Nehmer confirmed the news to the media.
Jack Horkheimer was suffering form bronchiectasis, a degenerative lung disease. The museum officials released a statement after his death where they maintained that the museum authorities are saddened to have learned that their resident Jack Horkheimer passed away after being ill for quite some time. In “Jack Horkheimer: Star Gazer” the host used to inform the viewer of significant astronomical events for the next its upcoming week, including key constellations, stars and planets, lunar eclipses and conjunctions, as well as historical and scientific information about these events. The episode used to feature the host in front of a green screen, where he appeared to sit on top of a planetary ring on one side of the screen.
Jack Horkheimer does not have any immediate survivors, as the media reports. His show “Jack Horkheimer: Star Gazer” was loved and appreciated by millions of people and it helped them to create a love for star gazing. The media reports that his funeral arrangements are still pending. The show “Star Gazer” began in 1976 as “Star Hustler”. He was an amateur astronomer when he created the show and he used to close every show with a motto “Keep Looking Up”. The host had erected his own tombstone and written his own epitaph where he maintained that “Keep Looking Up” was his life’s ambition and he could do little else in his present position.
