LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The latest episode of ‘48 hours’ on CBS focused on the tragic fate of the West Memphis Three. Correspondent Erin Moriarty covered the show and it was aired on Saturday night. Damien Echols, who was one of the accused was also interviewed on the show and ever since the airing of the show the West Memphis Three have become a hot search on the web.

‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ star Johny Depp has been an active supporter of the West Memphis Three over the years. Apart from him several celebrities like Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam and Natalie Maines of Dixie Chicks have also showed their support for the cause of the wrongly accused. In 1993, Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley were accused of killing three 8 year old children. The brutal murder of the children appeared almost like a Satanic ritual and Damien Echols who followed an almost Gothic sense of style became the prime suspect in the case. He was convicted and awarded the death sentence. Lorri Davis learnt of his plight and offered to help him and the other three to fight for justice. In the process of finding justice for the three accused, Lorri Davis also fell in love and married the man who has been on the death row for 16 years. She said that he was an amazing person and the fight was something morally right.

None of the evidence found in the investigations have pointed towards any of the convicted. The West Memphis Three however continue to be in jail for a crime that they may not have committed altogether.
