LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)-The West Memphis Three case was in the limelight once more as Johny Depp defended the trio in the latest rerun episode of ‘48 Hours’ on CBS. The episode showed the tragic fate of the three men who have been accused for the murder of the three children. The star said that he is convinced that all three accused are innocent and none of the evidence points towards them.

On the show, correspondent Erin Moriarty also interviewed the wife of Damien Echols, Lorri Davis, who married him in spite of the controversial case and the fact that he was on the death row. The touching interviewed showed how Lorri Davis decided to help Damien Echols get justice and then married him in spite of the sentence. Johny Depp has been one of the many celebrities who have endorsed the cause of the West Memphis Three. One of the mothers of the 8 year old children also recounted the horrifying day of the tragedy. Over the years as it became evident that the three teenagers were accused wrongly, some of the parents of the victims have come up and defended the West Memphis Three. They have asked for justice for the ’six families’.

Three teenagers were accused of the gruesome murder of three 8 year old boys in 1993. Later investigations pointed that the three were convicted without any of the evidence actually pointing towards them. Damien Echols was given a death sentence and he has been on the dreaded row for 16 years now. He said on the show that he missed the simple things in life like walking on grass and feeling raindrops on his skin. The case has received great media attention over the years and wronged trio came to be known as West Memphis Three.
