May 18, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Multi award winning actor, Alec Baldwin hosted the season finale of Saturday Night Live for the record 15th time. This Saturday’s episode was the finale of the show’s 35th season and also its 1576th episode. Baldwin has now tied the record with actor Steve Martin, who earlier had the record of hosting the show for the 15th time, though this is the first time that Baldwin hosted a season finale episode.
Baldwin was greeted by Martin on a taped video greeting, which Baldwin interrupted while it was being shown. Both the actors jointly hosted this year’s 82nd Academy Awards. He currently stars as Jack Donaghy on the sitcom 30 Rock.
Baldwin first gained recognition for his work in the soap opera Knots Landing, during the years 1984 to 1986. He has played lead as well as supporting roles in films like The Hunt for Red October, The Aviator, and The Departed. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor nomination at Oscars in 2003 for his role in the film, The Cooler and has received two Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and four Screen Actors Guild Awards.
