‘Twilight’ Character Names Become Popular Baby Names

May 11, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Apart from making waves at the box office, the Twilight series of vampire films is making news all over again. In an annual list of the most popular baby names released by the Social Security Administration, Isabella and Jacob, both of which are names of character in Twilight franchise, came up to be the winners.
Though Jacob has been the top baby boy name for the last 11 years, way before Stephanie Meyer wrote the series, Cullen, the surname of the vampire family in the book, is the biggest climber on the list, jumping almost 300 places since 2008 from 782 to 485.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, one of the most anticipated films of the year will open in the United States on June 30. Its predecessor, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, broke opening-day box-office records in North America, earning more than $72 Million in the US/Canada in Fall 2009 and it wont come as a surprise to anyone if Eclipse beats that record.
Apart from Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, Eclipse stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Kellan Lutz, Xavier Samuel, Dakota Fanning, Peter Facinelli etc.
