Vivek Oberoi And Priyanka Alva To Tie The Knot Today

BANGALORE, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi is all set to break the hearts of his female fans as he ties the knot to Priyanka Alva today. The ‘Rakta Charitra’ actor and the bride-to-be will be exchanging the life-changing vows at the Bangalore home of the Alvas and a grand reception in Mumbai is expected in the future.

Preceding the wedding, there is a ‘Mehndi’ ceremony where the bride is blessed with vermilion and turmeric by the elders of the family. One source present at the venue revealed that the ceremony started with Priyanka Alva being smeared with the holy vermilion which is considered auspicious. There are also reports that suggest that the families had a gala time on Thursday night where the couple and even their parents shook a leg to the latest Bollywood songs that included those of Vivek Oberoi’s latest film ‘Rakta Charitra’. Also belting out dance numbers was reputed South Indian percussionist Shivamani, who is also known to be a close friend of the family.

At the ‘Mehndi’ ceremony, Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Alva wrote their names on each other’s palms and there was some more dancing and singing. The Oberoi’s have flown in mehndi expert Usha Shah specially from Mumbai to mark the occasion. She told the media that Priyanka Alva’s Mehndi design included peacock and leaves and took four hours to apply. She also revealed that she wrote Vivek Oberoi’s name on the right palm of Priyanka Alva and her name on his left hand. Designer duo Shantanu- Nikhil have designed the outfits of the couple for the Sangeet.
