JAIPUR, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Newly-weds Katy Perry and Russell Brand left for their honeymoon on Monday afternoon after an extravagant wedding in a typical Indian style at the Aman-i-Khas resort in Ranthambore near the pink city of Jaipur. According to reports, the newly-wedded couple have chosen Maldives as their honeymoon destination. The luxury tropical island of Maldives would surely be the perfect getaway for the power couple after their wild Indian wedding near a tiger reserve in western India.

The ‘California Gurls’ singer is said to have left for her honeymoon with Russell Brand on Monday afternoon in a chartered jet from the Jaipur airport. The 26-year-old pop singer validated the news of her marital nuptials through her page on the micro-blogging site Twitter in which Katy Perry exclaimed “We Did!” While the “I Kissed A Girl” singer seemed to be extremely excited about the bright new chapter in her life, Russell Brand jokingly added that he is looking forward to spending the upcoming days “taking Katy through the Kama Sutra”. Meanwhile, an insider at the Aman-i-Khas resort where the wedding took place reportedly later told media outlets that the newly-weds were fully satisfied as everything went as per the plans without any glitches, except a tiger gatecrashing the wedding party.

An Aman-i-Khas resort insider has confirmed reports that a tiger indeed gate-crashed the wedding venue of Katy Perry and Russell Brand sometime around midnight on October 23 when the celebrations were going on in full swing. Although the tiger was just few miles away from the exact location where the guests were enjoying themselves, it was shooed away by the resort officials after much deliberation.
