JAIPUR, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Singer Katy Perry got married to the love of her life in a big fat Indian wedding at the Aman-e-Khas luxury resort near the Ranthambhore tiger sanctuary, which is located at a distance of 80 miles from the pink city of Jaipur. After preparations that lasted for days to ensure that the “California Gurls” singer ties the knot with her beau Russell Brand just the way the pair wanted, the fairytale wedding took place on October 23.

Soon after the wedding was solemnized, a close friend of the celebrity pair confirmed to reporters that the 35-year-old comedian and Katy Perry were now man and wife. Given the fact that Russell Brand proposed to the 26-year-old singer in India in one of the most romantic manners outside the Taj Mahal on December last year, their wedding in a typical Indian ceremony at the tiger reserve in western India does not come as a bolt from the blue. A Mandap (canopy) was set up at the central pavilion tent of the Aman-i-Khas where the wedding later took place in the presence of close friends as well as family members of the power couple. The groom arrived on a horseback along with an extravagant wedding procession to marry his lady love amidst much fanfare.

However, the Indian touch to the wedding was not limited to only the decorations, as the pair also chose to wear traditional Indian costumes on the D-Day to complete the look. According to insiders, as a wedding gift Katy Perry decided to give the much-acclaimed comedian a baby elephant while Russell Brand chose to gift his bride a ruby that according to him, has protective powers.
