MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The much awaited film ‘Rakta Charitra‘ made on the life and rise of slain politician Paritala Ravi has been released and it has become the center of media attention. Ram Gopal Verma known for making realistic and hard hitting films based on real life incidents has chosen the well known story of the decade old political feud and power play in Andhra Pradesh as the subject of this film. ‘Rakta Charitra’ is doing well in Southern parts of India as well where it has been released in Telugu and Tamil. However, the film has made the TDP leaders angry. They claim that the filmmaker has portrayed former CM N.T. Rama Rao as a person who instigated violence.
The role of former CM N.T. Rama Rao has been played by veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha in the multi lingual film ‘Rakta Charitra‘. The TDP workers and leaders have come down heavily on the filmmaker who often gets mired in controversy. They lashed out at him and some of them even called him a man with a sadistic mentality. The enraged political party supporters have demanded that some scenes of the film that portray their leader in a negative way should be deleted. They have also threatened that if the director does not accept their demand they will stall the screening of the film.
‘Rakta Charitra‘ has got a decent opening but if the enraged TDP supporters really stall its screening in the upcoming days the business can be affected. They have already staged demonstrations in some parts of Andhra Pradesh demanding that the objectionable scenes be chopped off.
