MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- It seems that after several weeks Salman Khan’s dream run at the box office may come to an end. The latest Rajnikanth Flick Endhiran The Robot which also has model turned actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the cast is simply trouncing the competition at the box office since its release last Friday. It has already left behind another big release ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ and the other release of the week ‘Khichdi: The Movie’ far behind in terms of box office collection. Both the other movies suffered badly at the box office and Endhiran stormed the way to the top. The trade analysts say that the sci fi flick made at an estimated cost of INR 150 crore has already garnered INR 95 crore from the joint ticket sales in the opening weekend. If the overseas box office collection is added the figure crosses INR 100 crore.
The box office collections of Robot will add another INR 120 crore in the coming days as it is being expected. Dabangg which was touted the biggest hit of the year even a few days back managed to gross around INR 48 crore in the opening weekend. The viewers are going gaga over the film owing to its mind boggling special effects.
Rajnikanth as always is the USP of the film Robot and despite his age the actor has proved once again he can carry a film on his own shoulder yet. The rave reviews the film is getting in the Hindi spoken areas and states in India has worked in its favor. The multiplexes in states like UP are increasing the shows of the film owing to rising box office collections.
