MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- It looks like Harry Potter can do better magic than Hrithik Roshan when it comes to casting a spell on the Indian audience. In what can be called a rather strange box office report over the weekend so far, the Hollywood fantasy thriller has overtaken the Sanjay Leela Bhansali drama. Though it looks like ‘Guzaarish’ will be picking up over the weekdays due to its fantastic critical reviews, presently ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1′ has been the main draw for the Indian audience.

Guzaarish‘ started slow in the box office but the evening shows in the metro did good business. On Friday, the net collection of ‘Guzaarish’ at the box office from the theaters across the country was Rs 3.5 crore. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1′ on the other hand made 2.5 crore on Friday alone but picked up greatly on Saturday. The film has released in several languages and is doing the best business in the metros where the ‘Pottermania’ is prevalent.

In spite of the rather unpredictable start to ‘Guzaarish’ at the box office, it is clear that the film could be a turning point in the career of Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. With ‘Kites’ bombing completely, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali emotional drama could well put him up with the best in the industry if it manages to pull of something similar to ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. The critical review of the film has been great but the film does not have a music that the audience can hum along. If the word of mouth continues, ‘Guzaarish‘ could well turn out to be a winner in the long run.
