September 22, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): This is your one stop shop for the latest happenings in the town. The buzz. The release plans. The launches. The works. Yes, this is serious business and we will bring to you the most reliable information week after week. Have a dekko.

‘Tees Maar Khan’ has been wrapped up in a record time of under 60 days. Though both ‘Main Hoon Naa’ and ‘Om Shanti Om’ had taken over 100 days each for director Farah Khan to complete the principal shooting, this Akshay Kumar starrer has turned out to be her fastest film till date.

Promos of ‘Action Replayy’ as well as ‘Golmaal Returns’ have been unveiled. Both the films not just look big but are also set to give Bollywood it’s biggest ever Diwali. ‘Dabangg’ and ‘3 Idiots’ have shown that there is a capacity of collections in the range of 70-80 crores in an opening week for a movie which is really loved. It would be interesting to see if this Diwali the sum total of both the biggies manages to cross the 80 crore mark.

After five film releases in a row (We Are Family, I Hate Luv Storys, My Name Is Khan, Kurbaan, We Are Family) in a matter of one single year, Karan Johar’s ‘Dharma Productions’ would be on a break as far as a new release is concerned. ‘Dostana 2′, ‘Agneepath remake’ and ‘Short Term Shaadi’ (tentative title) are yet to go on floors which means no newer releases for Karan till mid of 2010 at least.

All eyes are now on ‘Anjaana Anjaani’. For Ranbir Kapoor, the film’s success would be another step in the right direction to break into Top-5 zone while for Priyanka Chopra, the film should end 2010 on a positive note after a non-happening ‘Pyaar Impossible’.

There is a mad rush for films to arrive before biggies take over this Diwali. No wonder, October would see release heavy weeks with as many as 16 films fighting it out amongst themselves. While the most notable of them all are ‘Anjaana Anjaani’, ‘Aakrosh’, ‘Crook: It’s Good To Be Bad’, ‘Jhootha Hi Sahi’, ‘Knock Out’, ‘Rakta Charitra - I’, ‘Hissss’ and ‘Allah Ke Banday’, others in the fray are ‘Do Dooni Chaar’, ‘Benny and Babloo’, ‘Dunno Y Na Jaane Kyun…’, ‘Khichdi - The Movie’, ‘Baru - The Wonder Kid’, ‘Ramayana - The Epic’, ‘Dus Tola’, ‘Impatient Vivek’, ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ and ‘Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu’. Whew!
