Patriots-Jets helps draw big television ratings
NEW YORK — Sunday’s national game on CBS, mainly Patriots-Jets, earned its highest preliminary rating for its first broadcast of the season since the network resumed televising the NFL in 1998.
New York’s 28-14 win helped draw a 16.7 overnight rating and 32 share. CBS said Monday that the rating was up 8 percent from last year.
Ratings represent the percentage of all homes with televisions tuned into a program. Shares represent the percentage of all homes with TVs in use at the time. Overnight rating measure the country’s largest markets.
