ABC Revisits Tim Hennis Murder Case On ‘20/20′

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes)- The Tim Hennis murder case of 1985 which saw justice this year was revisited in the latest episode of ABC’s ‘20/20′. The episode featured interviews by the surviving member of the Eastburn family which was slaughtered by the former soldier. On the show Jana, the third daughter of Kathryn Eastburn who was merely 21 months old at the time when her two older sisters and mother was killed by Tim Hennis. There were also interviews of Gary Eastburn and also the lawyer who defended Tim Hennis in his first two trials.

After the murder in 1985 of the three family members of the Eastburn family, Tim Hennis became the main suspect. After being convicted he appealed his case and continued to deny any involvement in the crime. After a retrial, he was found to be innocent and walked free. 25 years later when the case was reopened, the latest evidences again pointed towards him and he was convicted of the brutal crime. The case received huge media attention and questions were raised on the credibility of the judicial system that allowed a man guilty of murder to roam freely for 25 years.

On the show Jana Eastburn spoke about her life and how she was convinced that Tim Hennis was involved in the murders. There was also a video segment where her interview, when 21 months old, by a child psychologist was shown. The show was hosted by Elizabeth Vargas and Chris Cuomo. ‘20/20′ is executive produced by David Sloan. The show was aired on September 17 at 10 pm and people all over have been scrambling the web to get details of the case.
