After receiving the award Jane Lynch described it as ‘outlandish’. She went on to thank her parents for raising her to the sounds of theater and also being unintentionally hilarious. She went on to discuss what acting meant to her and said that she likes being a part of the ensemble. She also spoke about religion and said that acting is like Buddhism, but clarified that she is not a Buddhist herself. She also thanked the creator of ‘Glee’ Ryan Murphy for creating a role of a lifetime for her and creating a cast that was so fresh faced.
Jane Lynch plays the role of Sue Sylvester in the hit comedy ‘Glee’. She is the arch rival of the ‘Glee’ club and tries her best to ruin the chances of their success. At the award night, Jane Lynch appeared in her Sue Sylvester avatar and threw a glass of Red slush at Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey in the pre-taped segment that opened the show. She was later seen in an elegant dark gown while accepting the award. Another early winner was Eric Stonestreet of ‘Modern Family’ who joked in his acceptance speech that all he wanted to become as a kid was a clown in a circus.
