MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Yesteryear’s superstar Dharmendra was seen getting overwhelmed with nostalgia as some of the cast members of the biggest Bollywood blockbuster ‘Sholay’ got together after 35 years on the sets of the reality show ‘Chhote Ustad’. Viju Khote and Asrani were the two other stars who were also present on the show along with filmmaker Ramesh Sippy.

Dharmendra was seen becoming emotional as the contestants performed some of the songs from the legendary movie like ‘Ye Dosti’, ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ and Mehbooba O Mehbooba’. The star revealed that the performances reminded him of the places and moments during the time of the shooting of ‘Sholay’. Another highlight of the evening was Dharmendra going up on stage to perform his signature dance moves to the song ‘Main Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana’ from his 1975 classic movie ‘Pratigya’.

The 74 year old star has made a comeback into the film industry in recent years with films like ‘Metro’ and ‘Johny Gaddar’. Dharmendra was one of the biggest names in the industry who managed to carve a niche for himself in spite of the presence of Amitabh Bachchan during his time. In ‘Sholay’ he played one of the leads who finally takes revenge from the villain ‘Gabbar’ for the death of his friend Jai, played by Amitabh Bachchan. The reality show ‘Chhote Ustad’ paid tribute to the legendary actors and the legacy of the movie with the young pint sized future stars performing the songs. The stage set-up and the costumes were also designed ‘Sholay’ style. The show airs every Saturday and Sunday.
