NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- On Friday night “Dateline” NBC devoted a full one hour episode to keep in front of the viewers the story of the mysterious death of Chris Jenkins, the University of Minnesota student who went missing from a Halloween party and was found dead at the River Mississippi four months later. “Dateline” went in retrospect to look into the death of Chris Jenkins and the ordeal of the family which still does not have any clue about what led to the murder of their young son. The “Dateline” studied the case in depth kept in front of the viewers the whole story starting from the night of the disappearance of Chris Jenkins to the present date.

Chris Jenkins went missing from a tavern where he had gone to attend a Halloween Party in 2002. The police came across the dead body of Chris Jenkins in River Mississippi four months later. It dismissed the case as another accidental death or suicide story. However, the Jenkins family could never accept that their son had killed himself. In 2006 the case was reopened after an order was passed by Minneapolis Police Chief Tim Dolan. Re-investigation into the case revealed that Chris Jenkins was murdered.

The program mentioned that the investigators had at one time linked the death of Chris Jenkins to a numerous other river drowning cases of college-age students that happened in Upper Midwest at that time. However, till date the police have not been able to find anything concrete in the case. Steve Jenkins now hopes that the show will be able to stir “someone’s conscience” who will come forward to confess the crime.
