LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes)- The latest rage on the web is a video produced by a group of university students called ‘A Very Potter Sequel‘. The video is a parody of the Harry Potter movie series and there are several funny references to the original series in the wacky and funny parody.

The parody was created by a group of University of Michigan students who call themselves the Team StarKid. They were also behind the YouTube viral video that became a rage on the web last year called ‘A Very Potter Musical’.

The actors in the musical have also attained a significant fan base as was evident in a recent Harry Potter fan conference in Orlando recently. The members of the group are all fans of the Harry Potter series themselves according to some reports. The videos are however aimed at the audience who are open to the idea of seeing a different side to the world of Hogwarts. In the latest video called ‘A Very Potter Sequel‘, there are a number of liberties that the Team Starkid group has taken. Professor Dumbledore is shown to be a very flamboyant character in contrast to the serious and fatherly figure in the JK Rowling creation. Professor Umbridge’s role has been performed by a muscular man dressed as a woman.

The original time-line of Harry Potter is not maintained in ‘A Very Potter Sequel‘ and there is also use of some profanities to make it even more hilarious. The characters are caricatures of the originals and some alterations to the original story include Draco Malfoy having a strong crush on Hermione Granger.

I watched A Very Potter Sequel last night as soon as it was released, and it was brilliant and hilarious, just like the last! Traffic on Youtube was ridiculous last night - as soon as the playlist came on at 8pm EST, I clicked and immediately there were over 300 views! Amazing!
