LAHORE - Cricketer turned politician Imran Khan has accused Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif of utilising the police and administration for rigging elections much to what he would have done with cricket umpires during his playing days.
Addressing an election rally here, Imran, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief, criticised Nawaz for using government establishments for poll rigging.
He also accused the country’s leadership of working under the US’ directives and said that the ‘war on terror’ has resulted in fierce clashes between the tribal people and security forces.
“Our leaders have made the US war, country’s own struggle now, which resulted in fierce encounters among local tribesmen and Pakistan army, bringing the country to a complete destruction,” The News quoted Imran, as saying.
He also condemned both the government and opposition leaders for what he described as ‘failed’ economic policies. (ANI)
