Censor Board objects to Ishqiya promo

‘Ishqiya’ is facing trouble before it even hits theatres. First, it had to be re-shot. And now, the Censor Board has demanded that the word “sex” be beeped from a dialogue shown in the promos.
Vishal Bhardwaj, whose protégée is directing the film, has been asked to beep the word “sex” if it was to be allowed to go on air. The dialogue is spoken by Arshad Warsi and is directed to Naseeruddin Shah.
According to Vinayak Azad, Regional Manager, Censor Board, the film’s theatrical promo was passed with an A certificate. However, they wanted a U/A certificate for airing it on television. So, as the impact of the promos would be more, they asked for the word “sex” to be beeped. But the team isn’t very happy about this order.
Vishal, however, is not at all happy with the decision. He thinks that because people in India are afraid to even utter the word “sex”, it is the worst AIDS affected country in the world. He has no choice now but to beep the part but he thinks the members of the board should know that they are in this world because of sex.
