Obama, wrestlers pay holiday tribute to US troops

LOS ANGELES — A holiday message from President Barack Obama is part of World Wrestling Entertainment’s “WWE Tribute to the Troops” special airing this weekend.

The program, set for 9 p.m. EST Saturday on NBC, chronicles a Mideast trip by WWE wrestlers that included base visits and a performance for the troops. Along with the taped remarks from the president, Gen. David Petraeus also delivers holiday wishes.

The NBC special marks the WWE’s seventh annual Mideast trip.
