India working towards balkanisation of Pakistan: Imran Khan

LAHORE - Cricketer-turned-politician and the Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has said that India is working towards balkanisation of Pakistan.
In a statement issued here, Khan, while criticizing the current civilian government, said Pakistan needs to change its strategy on the war on terror, failing which would enable foreign powers to destabilise the country.
“India could exploit the situation and work towards the balkanisation of Pakistan particularly in the aftermath of the recently concluded joint strategy between Washington and Delhi,” The News quoted Khan, as saying.
“We are being trapped in a quagmire as the government has conceded that there is an Indian hand in terrorist acts,” the former Pakistan cricket captain added.
Khan highlighted that the US policies in Afghanistan have failed miserably, and that following those policies has buried Islamabad under huge debts.
“Use of military force in pursuance of US policy had caused infrastructural damage and economic collapse. Thousands of innocent civilians and soldiers lost their lives, some 3.5 million people had to leave their homes in Swat,” he said. (ANI)
