Sept 15 (IBNS) Patrick Swayze is dead, but he has taught many how to live. The classy Hollywood star finally lost his 20-month long battle with advanced pancreatic cancer that attracted attention of the entire world. He was 57.

The ‘Dirty Dancing’ and ‘Ghost’ star had his family by his bedside when he died in Los Angeles. Swayze was diagnosed with cancer in 2008. It was already in an advanced stage and six months after he was diagnosed with the disease doctors felt he had outlived his prognosis. In an interview at an airport, Patrick called himself a ‘miracle dude’ and showed his positive intent when he decided to shoot for the entire series of the
“Beast” for A&E. when asked how did he nurture the positive attitude in face of death he said, “You go to work.”

In the show he played an undercover F.B.I. agent and at its premiere in January early this year he earned rave reviews for his job. Swayze, the eternal optimist, had appeared in the “Barbara Walters Special” and said “I keep my heart and my soul and my spirit open to miracles.”

Patrick said he was not willing to try the experimental treatments that came along his way, because he did not want to lose whatever life he had chasing it. “I want to live,” he said.
